Name: Korinne "Kori" Jones Gender: Female Age: 20 Height: 5'9" Personality: First impressions are very important to this girl; you better know she is smarter than you right from the start otherwise she will not be happy. Assuming you do recognize her intelligence, she will become more soft and warm-hearted, though she will still give tiny reminders to show she is superior. A general know-it-all, Kori is often correct. When she meets a new pokemon she will assess it mentally (what type is it, what Pokemon and its specie history). She becomes intruigued with Pokemon she has never seen before, mostly being prehistoric ones. The girl rarely gets excited, preffering to keep her cool and retain her composure at any cost. She does not get flustered easily and can be quite oblivious when it comes to being "woo-ed". She will rarely notice if someone is flirting with her, and isn't very good with jokes. At all.
Brief History: Born and raised in Hoenn by her loving mother and father, Kori was never a lonely child. Her mother, a steel-type trainer, and father, a fire-type trainer, were often busy with work. Their Pokemon would act as a day-care service for them until they finished their day work and had a chance to play and love their daughter. Korinne had always been exposed to Pokemon, starting from a very young age. Her mother's Aggron, a retired battler, would often tag along on Kori's "expeditions" through the nearby forest and lake. The Aggron, lovingly dubbed Nana by the child, was the best nanny any mother and child could ask for, ultimately becoming Kori's best friend.
One winter, as Nana and Korinne were out playing in the snow, the girl found a small fluff in the snow. Under the cold blanket she found an Absol, small and young bleeding since his eyes had been clawed out. Shocked at the horror she saw, Kori quickly called Nana over and brought the Pokemon inside, where her parents used their experience as trainers to fix him up and bandage his eyes. Korinne stayed at his side every day he was in recovery, bringing him outside to play on better days and wrapping a blanket around him on the not so bright ones. Though fully healed, the Absol would never see again. Kori saw past this and saw the Pokemon as a fellow friend, teaching him what certain objects were and showing him around the village in case he got lost. Her parents were sure if the Absol would die if he were alone in the wild again, they allowed him to stay and he became Kori's first Pokemon. He never battled, meant to be only a companion to the girl.
As years passed, Korinne developed more and more knowledge on the Pokemon world and the Pokemon themselves. Proud of her success in school and with her studies, they offered to send her to one of the finest boarding schools in the Saros Region. Sad she would no longer be living with her parents, Kori chose not to go in fear that she would never see her parents again. Her father passed on a pokeball to her, saying that the Pokemon inside would always keep her company and remind her of home. As he released the Pokemon, it was revealed to be her father's Chandelure whom she would often study with at night. Reassured of her decision, Kori finally decided to go.
For a few years Korinne has been studying at the Nightingale Manor, only increasing her already vast knowledge. Upon being informed of the Regional tournament, Kori took this opportunity to practice some battling skills, something she had never really done before. Learning that she may use three Pokemon to participate, her parents bred and gifted her a Zorua to compete in the tournament with. Kori hopes to win to make her parents proud.
Misc:
The Dusk stone used to evolve Lumi now resides in Korinne's choker. It no longer has any evolutionary value. Queen Puffy Sleeves "Dealing with Dark Types" is a book Kori bought since Dark types are not her forte. After a battle, Kori shows courtesy to the other trainer (win or lose) by giving them a super potion to heal their Pokemon.
When Korinne is up late studying, Lumi is often at her side to help shine some light and keep her company. Lumi is Korinne's first pokemon, and has a strong bond with her.

Misc:
The scars over his eyes are the reason Kori took him in. He was initially a pet until he showed an interest in battling. In battle, he has lowered accuracy because of his blindness. Don't think he won't be able to find you though. The claw marks were eventually identified as Sneasel claws.

The baby of Kori's three Pokemon. Is often seen being disobedient and mocking her for pleasure. In rare moments when Kori is not chasing after the troublemaker, she endearingly calls the Zorua "babyfluff".
