Description

:iconharvest-pokemoon:

Second character for the group, who I debated being a farmer or business owner but ended up deciding on farmer.

Totally open for some constructive criticism. (:

:bulletpurple:Name :: Indigo DeHaven
:bulletpurple:Age :: 31 (at death)
:bulletpurple:Gender :: Female
:bulletpurple:Pokemon :: Gastly
:bulletpurple:Height :: 5'10" (178 cm)
:bulletpurple:Bodystyle :: Thin
:bulletpurple:Birthday :: February 23rd
:bulletpurple:Home Island :: Mystery Isle

:bulletpurple:Personality :: Quiet | Isolated | Motherly | Straight-forward

            Indigo spent most of her time without real social interaction. Her conversations were mostly one-sided and when she did attempt to make contact people got scared and ran. Now she has become conditioned to be a quiet individual, and stays relatively alone and minds her own business. When she sees people passing by, she will be more likely to turn away than to incite a conversation. Though, she must not be mistaken to be ruse; if she were to find herself with another person, she does talk. Her speech lacks delicacy, and will often come across as blunt. She is very few of words. As a mother of two, she retained many of her habits she used when raising her children. If you have food on your chin, you can be sure Indigo will swoop in with a napkin before you can even realize it's on your face to begin with.

:bulletpurple:History ::
    No one could hear her.

        The woman pushed her way through crowds of people that had gathered to see the building being engulfed in flames. Searching frantically for her young children, she found solace seeing them in the arms of one of the uniformed men at the scene. She ran to them, crying tears of joy and screaming delight; but those same tears would never be seen, and those screams would never be heard. She was afraid. She was angry. She looked down at her hands to see that her own were not in their place and that she could see straight through them. Her worst fear was realized.

        It took years for the grief to subside. The ghost would often visit the ruins of her old home and wonder how this all could have started. It was just a normal afternoon the family had been enjoying together. Now she would worry what her children would become without their mother at their side. She watched as her children jumped from one foster home to the next, and should they be threatened to be separated the woman was sure to assert her ghostly presence and intervene. She was not limited to just hiding in the shadows, she could do something. Still no one saw her, but with force she could push tables and close doors. She was determined to be there for her children.

        Eventually, a loving family took the two together, and raised them as their own. Though happy for her beloved children, the woman grew jealous of the perfect lifestyle they lived; a perfect life that did not include her. She once again tried to assert her presence; she would move chairs and sit at the table for dinner, and even tuck the children in at night. This both scared and confused the new parents, who quickly grew afraid of the house and moved out with the children. The woman was heartbroken, wandering the now empty home that she had worked so hard to provide for her family. Prospective realtors would show the house to new buyers, but the ghost was quick to scare them off. Years passed, nobody bothered to even give the house a passing glance in fear of the spirit that wandered inside.

        The city eventually came to repossess the abandoned house, tearing it down just as the fire had done to her first home. The woman sat in the middle of the ruined building the workers had left. She had nothing now; everything she loved and held dear taken from her. Her head tilted back and tears trickled down her cheeks. Through her watery eyes, she spied a rainbow in the sky. The bright colours reminded her of the times she would get caught in the rain with the kids, and when the sun shined through afterwards; there was always a rainbow. She smiled, being given hope for the first time in decades. She would need to rediscover her purpose, and start again. A new start deserved a new name. Her lips parted as she spoke.

    "Indigo."

:bulletpurple:Job :: Farmer || No speacialty
:bulletpurple:Ranch Name :: Spectral Fields

:bulletpurple:Dog Race :: Growlithe (stray)
:bulletpurple:Dog’s name :: n/a

:bulletpurple:Talents :: Haunting
:bulletpurple:Funfacts ::
    :bulletpurple: Indigo chose her name inspired by the second to last colour of the rainbow she saw. It represents that she was close to giving up, but hope brought her back.

    :bulletpurple: She decided to be a farmer because she wanted to be able to give new life to the world.

    :bulletpurple: As a ghost, Indigo now cannot have anymore children of her own. She is very upset by this.

    :bulletpurple: Through years of practice, Indigo has been able to give herself a semi-physical form. She has some difficulty in fully maintaining a solid form, so she chooses to localize these areas when in use.

    :bulletpurple: Indigo can feel; she knows the difference between hot and cold, wet and dry. She cannot taste, though.

Your prose is so extremely compelling, in the way that you set it up so that the reader becomes invested in her pain. By not writing about her life of joy with her children, you make us feel just like she does-- that either she can't even recall the past, or that it doesn't even matter because of all that she has gone through and all that she had in the living world has just been ripped away. It's haunting and beautiful, and a really refreshing take on a history and an HPM character.

She is absolutely lovely, and I really love the luminescence on her hair. I'm a little tardy to comment on this, but I'm so looking forward to seeing her around!
